Revio is built so your source documents stay with you and only the minimum needed for each AI request ever leaves the browser. This page explains exactly what happens to your data.

Your PDFs stay on your device

Article PDFs are opened and read inside your browser. The files themselves are never uploaded to Revio. When you run an AI step, only the specific text passages that step needs, together with your questions, are sent for processing. This is what keeps you inside publisher and library license terms that prohibit uploading full texts to third-party tools.

What is stored, and where

• Account: your name and email, held by Google Firebase Authentication. Passwords are never stored by Revio.
• Billing: your plan, its status, an optional receipts email, and a Stripe customer reference. Your card number never touches Revio — it is handled entirely by Stripe.
• Usage: credit counters used to meter AI actions.
• Collaboration (only if you turn on Live sync): screening decisions, notes, and edited answers, so teammates stay in sync. Your PDFs are never part of this.
• Your review data (evidence, quotes, the manuscript) lives in the project file you keep and export yourself.

In transit and access control

All traffic runs over HTTPS/TLS. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, and requests to Revio's API are protected by Firebase App Check (reCAPTCHA Enterprise) so they can only come from the Revio site.

Your control

You can update your receipts email and manage or cancel your plan at any time from Manage billing inside the app. To delete your account and associated data, write to the address below and we will action it.

For institutions

A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available on request. If your library or department needs invoicing, single sign-on (SSO), a larger seat count, or a security review, get in touch and we will work through your requirements.
